It is difficult to watch the conclusion of beloved Korean dramas in 2025. Are you interested in finding out the status of Season 2? Fans may be surprised to hear that some of their favourite Korean dramas, like When Life Gives You Tangerines (starring IU and Park Bo Gum), will not be returning to Netflix in 2025.

Korean dramas like Lovely Runner and Queen of Tears had a significant influence on Netflix's audience. The OTT major has been mum on the subject of a potential second season, leaving fans to wonder if there will be one. Several well-liked Korean dramas have already been marked as "limited series," effectively ruling out any possibility of renewal, as far as we are aware.

In 2025, Netflix will formally stop streaming the following Korean dramas.

When Life Gives You Tangerines

When Life Gives You Tangerines, a unique slice-of-life song, has been performing admirably. It peaked at number one in three countries and reached the top ten in 24 others, bringing in 3.6 million views this week. Currently, it remains firmly positioned at No. 4 on Netflix's global non-English chart. Netflix, however, shows no signs of wanting to cash in on the rumours or its rising popularity. Even before the show has concluded its airing, the streaming service has already applied the "limited series" designation.

Oh Ae Sun is a lively girl, and the story follows her and her loyal childhood sweetheart, Yang Gwan Sik. Youngly wed, they confront every obstacle in life, even an endless supply of tangerines. Netflix describes their island narrative as a lifelong journey filled with setbacks and triumphs, demonstrating the enduring power of love.

When the Stars Gossip

When the Stars Gossip was touted as one of Netflix's major wagers for 2025 in the K-drama genre, including the talented Gong Hyo Jin and the charming Lee Min Ho of Korea. Unfortunately, it was misguided quite severely. The show's viewership and critical reception were both disappointing. This was surprising, given that Lee Min Ho consistently draws a sizable international audience.

Taking Love to Space, the show pushed genre boundaries by providing a blend of science fiction and romance. Physicists and astronauts collaborated with writer Seo Sook Hyang and director Park Shin Woo to explore and nail the cosmic details. Still, there were too many "wait, what?" moments, clumsy storytelling, and uneven pacing for the show to be successful. Netflix quickly removed the "limited series" designation from this show.

The Potato Lab

With 1.9 million views and top ten finishes in 19 countries, The Potato Lab is currently sitting pretty on Netflix's Top 10 worldwide non-English list, at No. 9. The romantic comedy features Lee Sun Bin and Kang Tae Oh, both of whom have recently returned from serving in the military, and it follows the typical formula of Korean romantic comedies: a small-town setting, workplace turmoil, and plenty of joyful moments between former adversaries. Unfortunately, there will not be a second season of the show.

After a corporate takeover threatens to close her lab, the protagonist, a dedicated potato researcher, fights to keep it open. When a filmmaker, known for his boldness, intervenes, the situation naturally becomes more intricate and passionate. As Netflix depicts, a passionate researcher's life undergoes a transformation when a strict director steps into her potato lab.

When the Phone Rings

Yoo Yeon Seok and Chae Soo Bin's 2024–25 drama When the Phone Rings created significant excitement among viewers. Contrary to traditional Korean dramas, the decision to abandon the no-bold-scenes policy yielded positive results. Park Sang Woo's direction causes the couple's marriage to deteriorate, thrusting them into the turbulent political landscape of South Korea. The drama's controversial depiction of combat was one reason for its enormous success. Even though it received mainly excellent reviews, Netflix has shown no interest in reviving the series. Currently, there are no plans for a second season of the show.

When the Phone Rings follows the lives of Sa Aeon and Hee Joo. They've been married for three years, but no one knows about it. Despite her battles with selective mutism, she works as a sign language translator, and he serves as the president's spokeswoman. Their relationship takes a dramatic turn when they receive an enigmatic phone call. In response to the kidnapper's attempt to call Sa Aeon a bluff, Hee Joo tells him to murder her. Unbeknownst to him, she is attentively taking notes.

Love Next Door

Despite its 2024 release year, Love Next Door remained a popular topic of conversation far into 2025. It had all the elements of a classic—starring Jung Hae In and Jung So Min—without the clichés. Two wildly successful individuals, separated by the globe, captivated viewers. Leaving her fiancé behind, she returns to Korea. Unless destiny brings them back together, he has already given up all hope. The show is uncomplicated yet effective. Popular enough to make Netflix's list of the top non-English series, the show was a smashing success. Netflix quickly designated it as a limited series, though, so it wasn't all hype. There will not be a second season.
