Since the beginning of 2025, one of the hottest topics that has drawn the attention of the netizens even without their permission is Urvashi Rautela promoting the film Daaku Maharaaj. Now, a month after its theatrical release, Netflix has scheduled the OTT premiere of the Nandamuri Balakrishna-starrer for February 21, 2025. However, while making the announcement on their social media pages, the OTT giant "conveniently" skipped featuring Rautela on the poster of the film, leaving netizens in a tizzy.
In no time, even before sharing their reactions to the film's OTT release, the Instagram users were busy commenting on excluding the actor from the poster, despite her promoting the film the most among the team members. One of the users commented, "India’s first woman to be removed from the poster of a 105+ CR film."
Another person commented, "Lmao, the movie's best promoter isn't even featured in the poster!" One comment also read as "Same Daaku Maharaj associated with that diamond-studded Rolex?" hinting at Rautela's comment on getting the expensive watch gifted by her parents upon the success of the film. However, her reaction was to the question about Saif Ali Khan's stabbing incident.
One more user wrote, "First Indian lead actress to not be seen on her film poster," whereas another teased, "I can see Urvashi peeping from behind those rocks."
Check out a few reactions below:
Rautela became infamous for her performance in the song Dabidi Dibidi from the film and the subsequent interviews she gave thereafter.
Apart from NBK and Rautela, Bobby Kolli's Daaku Maharaaj also features Bobby Deol, Pragya Jaiswal, Shraddha Srinath, Rishi, Chandini Chowdary, Pradeep Rawat, Sachin Khedekar, Shine Tom Chacko, Viswant Duddumpudi, Aadukalam Naren, and Ravi Kishan in pivotal roles.
Daaku Maharaaj made its global debut on January 12, 2025, the same day as Sankranti. Critics and viewers alike gave the film mostly favorable reviews. With a global gross of almost ₹115 crore, the film ranks third for Telugu films in 2025 and fourth for Indian films this year.
