As per reports in Deadline, Netflix's breakout series, Outer Banks, has been renewed for a third season. The series is a coming-of-age story that follows a close-knit group of local teenagers (the Pogues) in the beach vacation destination of North Carolina's Outer Banks. Season Two finds John B. and Sarah on the run and in over their heads in the Bahamas after their near-death escape.
New friends bring new foes as they retrace their steps back to the gold, while the stakes for Kiara, Pope, and JJ rise at home. The $400 million is still on the table, but will the discovery of a new-found secret reunite the team for a new mission? The adventure of a lifetime awaits, but with uncharted waters ahead, our Pogues will have to do everything they can to make it out alive.
Season three of Outer Banks will see the return of series regulars like Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, Austin North, Drew Starkey, and Charles Esten. In addition, we'll see more of Cleo in the coming season. Carlacia Grant, who appeared in Season Two as the character, has been promoted to series regular for Season Three.
The Outer Banks has been a smash hit for Netflix since its debut. The second season, which premiered in July, remained at the top of Netflix's Top 10 TV (English) list for four weeks after its release. Each season comprises 10 episodes each. Season 1 came out on April 15, 2020. While the second season dropped earlier this year on July 30,
Season three will see the return of Jonas, Josh Pate, and Burke as showrunners and executive producers.
At the 2020 People's Choice Awards, Outer Banks won The Bingeworthy Show of 2020. While Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline won Best Kiss at the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards.
