The Netflix comedy special series The Standups is ready to return to take your back on a laughter riot. The comedy show has been renewed by Netflix for yet another season. Netflix has given the green light to season 3 of the show which will premiere sometime towards the end of this year.

The comedy show was developed to give a platform to upcoming fresh comedians to showcase their talents and garner fans. With the newest talents in town taking on the stage in the half-hour standalone episode, the show is a complete entertainment package.

The third season will feature six impressive half-hour standup specials by comics Brian Simpson, Dusty Slay, Janelle James, Mark Normand, Melissa Villaseñor and Naomi Ekperigin. The past seasons have seen some entertaining comics take up the stage like Deon Cole, Nikki Glaser, Nate Bargatze, Fortune Feimster, Joe Lost, Kyle Kinane, Aparna Nancherla and others.

The comedy series has worked as a stepping stone in skyrocketing the careers of amateur comics trying to make a name for themselves. Former The Standups comic Deon Cole had previously expressed how the show changed his life in an interview with Paste Magazine saying, “That’s something I’ve been doing for my whole career, even on The Tonight Show with Conan when he first hired me. It just shows the rawness and realness of it all and invites people to come into our world.”

The upcoming season is set to be shot live in New York City this summer, making its way for a year-end release on Netflix. While waiting for the third season to arrive, you can binge-watch the previous two seasons available to stream on Netflix.
