A historic collaboration between global streaming behemoth Netflix and leading Indian production house Yash Raj Films (YRF) has been launched, with the goal of distributing a large number of YRF's iconic and popular Bollywood films to audiences all over the globe. Today marks the beginning of the partnership, which will provide Netflix subscribers with a carefully selected selection of YRF's cinematic works, with releases planned to coincide with festivals, special events, and stars' birthdays.
The planned deployment will continue until early 2026 to honour YRF's illustrious history. The first round of releases will mostly feature tributes to important film franchises and stars from Indian cinema.
As a lavish tribute to the "King of Bollywood," Shah Rukh Khan, the collaboration began. Coinciding with his birthday weekend, nine of his most successful YRF films—including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Mohabbatein, Dil To Pagal Hai, Veer-Zaara, and Chak De! India—debuted today, November 1.
In December, the spotlight moves to a different superstar. Ek Tha Tiger, Sultan, and Tiger Zinda Hai, three of Salman Khan's highest-grossing action films, will be available to stream beginning on December 27, the superstar's birthday.
November 14 marks the release of a compilation of critically regarded films, including Chandni, Kabhi Kabhie, Vijay, Lamhe, and Silsila, for fans of classic cinema. Later in December, Ranveer Singh's beloved films Band Baaja Baaraat, Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, Kill Dil, Befikre, and Gunday will be released on December 5, putting the spotlight on him once more.
During the Christmas season, the collection will be even further expanded with the addition of 34 family-friendly films. Two new titles will premiere daily from December 12 to the 28. Films like Bunty Aur Babli, Hum Tum, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, Mujhse Dosti Karoge, and Ta Ra Rum Pum are part of this compilation.
Also included in the deal are important YRF franchises. On November 28, you'll be able to see the thrilling Dhoom trilogy, and on January 22, 2026, you'll be able to watch the enthralling Mardaani series online. Saathiya, Ishaqzaade, Bachna Ae Haseeno, and Salaam Namaste are among the eight love stories that will be released in a special Valentine's Week anthology on February 7, 2026, in anticipation of the new year.
The deal is considered a major step in expanding the worldwide reach of South Asian popular culture and Bollywood, and it greatly enhances Netflix's collection of Indian programming.
