Netflix teases with Ray's Bahrupiya starring Kay Kay Menon

Netflix is celebrating one of the greatest storytellers of all time - Satyajit Ray with its upcoming anthology titled Ray. On Tuesday, the OTT giant dropped a promo video that offers a peek into a story titled ‘Bahrupiya’ from the anthology.

Kay Kay Menon plays a pivotal role in this episode that also stars Dibyendu Bhattacharya and Bidita Bag. Menon portrays an obsessive make-up artist in the Srijit Mukherji directorial. The promo video shows the actor in the shoes of a common man who works in a computer firm. However, he is an art enthusiast and considers himself the best makeup artist. In one of the scenes, the actor says, “From now on, I'll create my own destiny,” sporting different looks like a 'Bahrupiya' in front of people.

Soon after the promo release, the OTT giant tweeted the video with a caption that read, “Well, whoever said that @kaykaymenon02 could play any character was spot on!

Meanwhile, on Monday, the OTT giant released the promo of Ali Fazal starrer ‘Forget Me Not’ from Ray. The story focuses on a business tycoon, Ipsit Nair, who never forgets anything. It also stars Shweta Basu Prasad and Anindita Bose in significant roles. Ray’s four timeless stories will unfold on June 25 on Netflix.
