Navarasa will be Mani Ratnam's debut into the digital world and Arvind Swami's directorial debut.

Netflix's highly anticipated anthology, Navarasa, is expected to release on August 6 this year. Official confirmation on the date is yet to be announced. The movie was earlier scheduled to launch in May 2021 but was postponed probably due to the second wave of the Covid 19 pandemic. The movie will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
Navarasa will be Mani Ratnam's debut into the digital world and will be produced under his own production banner, Madras Talkies. The 9 different episodes based on the nine different human emotions - anger, compassion, courage, disgust, fear, laughter, love, peace and wonder, will be directed by popular filmmakers in the industry such as Arvind Swami, Rathindran R. Prasad, Bejoy Nambiar, Gautham Vasudev Menon, K. V. Anand, Halitha Shameem, Karthik Subbaraj, Ponram and Karthick Naren.
It will also mark the directorial debut of actor Arvind Swami, known for his roles in movies like Roja and Bombay. The movie also has an ensemble cast of the best talents from the South Indian film industry including Suriya, Prakash Raj, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Vijay Sethupathi, Sidharth and more.
The first episode will have major roles being played by Siddharth, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Pavel, Ammu Abhirami, Navageethan and Rajesh Balachandran. While the second one has Tamil actor Sree Raam.
The third one features three very talented artists from the South, namely Revathi, Vijay Sethupathi and Prakash Raj. But the most anticipated lead role is that of actor Suriya, who will also be seen in one of the episodes.
Yogi Babu is also expected to play a lead role. In one of the episodes, actors Vikranth and Aishwarya Rajesh will be seen opposite each other while other episodes will involve actors such as Arvind Swami, Prasanna, Sai Siddharth, Poorna, Sananth, Bobby Simha, Gautham Karthik and Saravanan. Robo Shankar is also expected to make an appearance in one of the episodes.
