In some exciting news for Ryan Reynolds fans, the star’s next film, The Adam Project, has finally seemed to have locked in on a release date. The Netflix film will reportedly be released on March 11, 2022.

According to a report in USA Today, the upcoming film would be available to stream on Netflix’s platform on that date, although an official statement from the streaming giant has yet to be made.

The Adam Project tells the story of a man who decides to travel back in time to the past to stand up to his father. There, he enlists the help of his younger self to help him on his quest.

In addition to Reynolds, the science fiction film also features Jennifer Garner, Zoe Saldana, Mark Ruffalo, Catherine Keener, and Walker Scobell in lead roles. While Ruffalo and Garner play the roles of the parents, Scobell essays the role of the younger version of Reynolds’ character.

The upcoming film is directed by Shawn Levy, who has recently collaborated with Reynolds on the film Free Guy, which also starred Jodie Comer.

The film had initially been announced back in 2012, with Tom Cruise set to star. Netflix acquired the film from Paramount. The film went on floors in 2020, with production being wrapped up in March of last year.

Meanwhile, Reynolds was last seen in Free Guy and the action-comedy Red Notice, which saw him share the screen with Gal Gadot and Dwayne Johnson. The actor also has the film Spirited in the pipeline, which also stars Will Ferrell and Octavia Spencer in lead roles.
