Bombe Bombe was the second song from Darshan’s Kranti that was released in the run-up to its theatrical outing. Sung by Sonu Nigam, the video that came out had Darshan romancing Rachita in a nicely choreographed sequence shot in a set. However, when the film released and the song played at some point, audiences were in for quite a surprise, because what had come earlier was not what was in the final version.
What played in theatres was a version with Darshan and Rachita in an outdoor setting, with the actor apparently showing off his more toned body and going literally topless. His styling for the song had him wearing unbuttoned flimsy shirts and trousers, that would put the focus on his ‘chest and stomach. Darshan was trolled incessantly back then, with netizens poking fun at the actor’s rather large chest.
Now, the team is set to release a 4k video of this song on April 6, which netizens have been saying is not required. Terming it 18+ content, several said that the version that is on video sharing sites is better than the one from the film and urged the team not to release it.
Kranti, which released on January 26, is believed to have been a box office debacle, as it landed on OTT (Amazon Prime Video) even before it completed 30 days in theatres. The team, though, claimed that it was a success and partied with a cake bearing the number 109, indicating the revenue they’ve had from theatrical and non-theatrical avenues. Industry experts, though reckon that it would have been unlikely for such collections, as the film fared miserably in theatres, following widespread negative reviews.
Director-composer V Harikrishna received the most hate from fans and audiences, as they felt that they let down the Challenging Star with a shoddy script. In fact, fans have been urging the actor not to collaborate with Harikrishna the filmmaker again.
