Multi-faceted actor Kamal Haasan is undoubtedly one of the veterans in Indian cinema, who has done it all. The actor, who is also an active politician, will be seen in two projects this year, Indian 2 and Kalki AD 2898. While the former is set to release in June, the latter will have Kama Haasan make a guest appearance. Avvai Shanmughi

Starring Kamal Haasan, Meena, Gemini Ganesan, Nagesh, Delhi Ganesh, Manivannan and others, Avvai Shanmugi is a 1996 adaptation of the American film Mrs Doubtfire. The film revolves around a recently divorced father who disguises himself as a woman and joins as a nanny to his daughter at his former wife's house. The film was directed by KS Ravikumar and became a commercial success when it was released in 1996. It was also remade in Hindi as Chachi 420.

Anbe Sivam

Directed by Sundar C with a script penned by Kamal Haasan, Anbe Sivam is a drama film which stars Madhavan, Kiran, Nasser and others. The film follows the journey taken by two men, with diametrically opposite beliefs, as they travel from Bhubaneshwar to Chennai. Anbe Sivam explores the themes of communism, atheism, and humanism. The film received a positive reception and was part of film festivals as well.

Guna

Guna is directed by Santhana Bharathi and stars Kamal Haasan as a psychiatric patient who kidnaps a rich heiress thinking to be the love of his life. The psychological romantic drama achieved a cult status over time so much so that the Kodaikanal caves in the film was shot in are now called Guna caves. Recently released Malayalam film Manjummel Boys also paid a fitting tribute to the film, which was also shot in the same location and Guna song Kanmani Anbodhu Kadhalan.

Thenali

Thenali is a 2000 comedy film, which starred Kamal as a Sri Lankan refugee who suffers from a number of phobias. He comes to Tamil Nadu and consults a psychiatrist played by Jayaram. The comedy drama also stars Devyani, Jyothika, Madhan Bob, Ramesh Khanna and others. The film is directed by KS Ravikumar and is inspired by the American film What About Bob?

Michael Madana Kama Rajan

Michael Madana Kama Rajan features Kamal Haasan playing four roles. The story is about how quadruplets who are separated at birth, eventually meet each other through a series of problems. Kamal Haasan is accompanied by a cast comprising Urvasi, Rupini, Khushbu, Manorama, Delhi Ganesh, Nassar, Vennira Aadai Moorthy, and others. The film was directed by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao and released in 1990 to run for 175 successful days in theatres.
