Fans' all-time favorite crime-drama Prison Break is gearing up for a return with a new chapter after it was officially announced that the revival series is under development at streaming giant Hulu.

All about the reboot series

Fox drama Prison Break is unfolding a new storyline and is currently in works as confirmed by Deadline.

The new iteration of the previously popular Fox series is in the early stages of development under the umbrella of Mayans MC showrunner Elgin James. The upcoming series originates from James’ deal with 20th Television, which also served as the production studio for the Prison Break series.

Plot Details

The series will be set in the same criminal world. However, it will not be revolving around the central characters, portrayed by Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell as per the reports. However, further details about the plotline remain unwrapped.

The series is written and executively co-produced by Mayans M.C. co-creator Elgin James, alongside Dawn Olmstead, Paul Scheuring, Marty Adelstein, and Neal Moritz.

Prison Break Recap

Debuting on Fox network in 2005, Prison Break, which ran for four seasons, narrates the story of the central character Michael Scofield (Miller), who was an engineer before turning into a robber. His ulterior motive to commit an armed robbery leads him to be incarcerated in the same prison cell where his innocent and wrongfully convicted brother Lincoln Burrows (Purcell) is locked up and serving a death sentence. Scofield then hatches an intricate escape plan with other prison inmates to get vigilante justice for his beloved brother.

The stellar cast also included Robin Tunney, Marshall Allman, Sarah Wayne Callies, Wade Williams, Peter Stormare, Amaury Nolasco, and Paul Adelstein in significant roles.

A TV film, The Final Break concluded the events after the season four finale.
