Another exciting week of English films is about to unfold with a good mix of genres in the offing. Alia Bhatt's mega Hollywood debut, of course, is likely to be the most sought-after but should you be a fan of supernatural epics, teenage coming-of-age dramas or even sweet romances, this week's roster certainly has something for you. Heart of Stone (2023)
Netflix's latest globetrotting spy action thriller has Wonder Woman Gal Gadot playing Rachel Stone, International Intelligence Agent who must embark on a deadly peacekeeping operation. Stone must ensure that the mysterious MacGuffin does not fall into the hands of the enemy but, of course, the task turns out to be a lot more convoluted and riskier than expected. Jamie Dornan, Sophia Okonedo and Matthias Schweighöfer play key roles in the film and so does India's own Rani, Alia Bhatt.

High Heat (2022)
Miami Heat's Don Johnson stars in this action film along with Olga Kurylenko and the duo plays a married couple that owns and operates a new restaurant. But there's more to what meets the eye because it turns out that both Ray (Johnson) and Ana (Kurylenko) are keeping big secrets from their past from one another: Ray owes money to the mafia and Ana is an ex-KGB agent! Things take a sharp turn when the mafia attempts to kill Ray but Ana ends up defending him - can this unlikely couple ward off the menace and save themselves?

Red, White & Royal Blue (2023)
Acclaimed playwright Matthew Lopez (The Whipping Man, Reverberation, The Inheritance) makes his directorial debut with this enterprising story. When Alex Claremont-Diaz, the son of the current President of the United States, ends up having a physical altercation with Henry, the British Prince, the two are forced to "pretend" to be friends so as to avoid a full-blown media crisis from unfolding. But things take a vibrant turn when the two, under the garb of this forced friendship, grow close to one another and eventually fall in love.

Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken (2023)
This animation feature follows the descendant of warrior Kraken queens, Ruby Gillman. The film, in essence, is a coming-of-age adventure wherein Ruby first learns of her grand lineage and is then compelled to tread on a path to eventually inherit the throne from her grandmother, the Warrior Queen of the Seven Seas.
Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken features the voices of Jane Fonda, Tony Collette, Annie Murphy, Lana Condor, Sam Richardson and several other noted celebrities.

The Last Voyage of the Demeter (2023)
André Øvredal's supernatural horror flick plucks a leaf from Bram Stoker's Dracula and follows a dreaded merchant ship (names Demeter) that must survive the dangerous journey on the ocean as the scare of the infamous vampire 'Dracula' looms large. This voyage from Transylvania to London turns out to be the mysterious one because when Demeter reaches the shores of England, there's no trace of the crew onboard.
