A gritty tale of bravery from the battlefield, a sinister serial killer and a con comedy are among the latest additions to the digital space this festival week. Farhan Akhtar leads the Hindi film 120 Bahadur, while Mammootty is in charge of the Malayalam thriller Kalamkaval and Naresh Agastya leads the Telugu flick Gurram Paapi Reddy. Here are the new OTT releases to watch in Indian languages that are available to stream on OTTplay Premium.

Popular actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar leads the way in this Bollywood war drama movie, which depicts the heroic and courageous efforts of the soldiers during the 1962 Indo-Sino war. Akhtar plays Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, who along with his battalion of 120 soldiers take on the might of the Chinese army. Razneesh 'Razy' Ghai has directed the film, which also features Raashii Khanna, Vivan Bhatena and Ankit Siwach. The film will drop on Prime Video on January 16 and OTTplay Premium subscribers can also watch with a top-up option.

Cop Jayakrishnan is assigned a case after communal tension is reported in a small Kerala village which is connected to a missing woman. As he digs deeper, he comes across similar missing cases, and a pattern emerges, pointing at a case of serial killing. Vinayakan plays the cop, while megastar Mammootty turns the menacing killer who targets single or divorced women. Jithin K Jose scripted and directed the film, which fans of thriller movies should watch.

If gritty war dramas and sinister killings are not what you are looking for this festival weekend, then you can consider young actor Naresh Agastya’s crime comedy. The star plays Gurram Paapi Reddy, a youth who is hell-bent on making money and is convinced that a heist attempt is the fastest way to achieve it. Faria Abdullah plays the female lead in the film. The presence of seasoned actors Brahmanandam and Yogi Babu ensure that Gurram Paapi Reddy will not be short of comedy.

This crime drama brings a mysterious tale of murders that somehow is connected to an orphanage. Mahesh Ravikumar made his directorial debut with Bandook, which released almost six months ago in theatres. Actors Balaji Manohar, Shwetha Prasad, Partha, and Gopalkrishna Deshpande star in this film, which opened to mixed reviews.

A film that does not shy away from asking some questions about how society still perceives women and judges them based on their dressing. Angammal, a middle-aged woman, and the mother of adult children is chastised by her son for not wearing a saree blouse and insists that she does before his fiancee’s family come visiting.
