The team of R Madhavan's upcoming film, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect released a new poster from the film today. Taking to his social media page, the lead actor of the film, Madhavan shared the poster and wrote, "NEW POSTER “A LOT OF IMPERFECT PEOPLE TRYING TO MAKE A PERFECT WORLD” . #Rocketrythefilm 🚀🚀 The story of a great scientist, a true patriot, who was turned into a villain in the blink of an eye. RELEASING JULY 1st. (sic)." The film is a biopic on aerospace scientist Nambi Narayanan, who was falsely accused of espionage.
The team had earlier released a video in which they recalled how they came together for the film. "I was lying on my couch and looking at YouTube and there was a Malayalam interview of Mr Nambi Narayanan. He had tears in his eyes. It was the defining moment that made me decide that I have to do this film," said Madhavan in the video. " I could see that deep inside was a man who was hurt, who was devastated by the lack of acknowledgement and accusation that impacted him and his family. There was embarrassment and tears in his eyes, but deep inside was the expression of the core of absolute truth. And I stood up and I clapped, not realising where I was. I said to myself that this is a story that I have to tell,"he added.
Madhavan stated it took seven months of research alone on the scientist to proceed with the film. "Strangely all of us ended up talking only about the case, how he arrested and tortured and his opinion of the reason behind the arrest, who these Maldivian women were, what was wrong about the accusation, it was a baffling story. After seven months of rigorous writing and research when I eventually went after Nambi sir, he was very excited. It took me another one-and-a-half year to put the whole script together about this really incredible man, his unbelievable and fantastic journey about Padma Bhushan Nambi Narayanan,"he said. The film is all set to hit screens on July 1.
