Dhanush is ringing in the new year by making a stride into Tollywood with his upcoming bilingual film, titled Sir in Telugu and Vaathi in Tamil. The pan-Indian star has begun filming for his upcoming venture recently, with a new poster from the same being unveiled today.
The poster was revealed on the official social media handles of Sithara Entertainments who serve as the production banner of the film. The posters show Dhanush in formal attire, his face out of view as he gazes at some people at a distance, and features the title of the film in English, Tamil and Telugu. The caption mentions that filming for the film had begun, which comes on the heels of a pooja ceremony, held by the makers a few days ago in Hyderabad.
According to a report in TOI, the upcoming film will revolve around the story of an ordinary college teacher who finds himself entangled in the education mafia as he protests against privatising education.
The upcoming film will mark Dhanush’s Telugu debut. The film features Samyuktha Menon as the female lead, with Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani and Narra Srinivas essaying crucial roles.
The bilingual film is written and directed by Venky Atluri. The film is bankrolled by S Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas.
Meanwhile, Dhanush was last seen in Aanand L. Rai’s Atrangi Re, where he shared the screen with Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan. The actor’s other films such as Maaran, also featuring Malavika Mohanan; and the Russo Brothers’ directorial
