What is Neymar about?

Though the film’s title hints a football connection, the film’s director had earlier told us that the movie isn’t a sports drama. In fact, the only link that it has to football is that both Naslen and Mathew play characters who are part of a Brazilian football team’s fan club.

The movie revolves around the incidents that happen after a dog enters their lives and the chaos that follows. “Neymar is a movie that people of all age groups can watch. The first look poster that we released recently reflects the mood of the movie, which is a complete family entertainer that also has ‘mass’ sequences, action and songs. In fact, there are 8-9 songs in the film,” Sudhi had earlier told OTTplay.

Vijayaraghavan, who was last seen in Ganesh Raj’s Pookkaalam as nonagenarian, will be portraying a completely different role in Neymar. Vijayaraghavan and Shammi Thilakan play the fathers of Naslen and Mathew’s characters, respectively.

The veteran actors will feature in ‘mass’ scenes in movie, which the filmmaker is hoping will be widely applauded in theatres, when the movie releases.

When and where to watch Neymar?

The Malayalam movie, which also be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi, is set to hit theatres on May 12. The Malayalam version, which will be released initially, will clash with Navya Nair and Saiju Kurup’s Janaki Jaane and Mamta Mohandas’ media thriller Live.
