Nia Sharma reveals Twisted impacted her career: I got same-sex kissing roles

Nia Sharma had taken the internet by storm when she kissed her co-star Isha Sharma in her show Twisted. Everyone was talking about the scene and now, Nia revealed that even the industry was talking about it so much that she was offered the same kind of roles. The actress said in an interview that there was a time when she got same-sex kissing roles, hinting at how her life changed (not for the better or worse) after Twisted.

Nia had made her OTT debut with Vikram Bhatt’s series, Twisted. She created a rife, when OTT was not even that popular and the one scene she spoke about is that which the internet just could not stop talking about.

While talking to Bollywood Hungama, Nia revealed that she was offered the same kind of roles and so, she has to sustain herself in the industry. “For someone who’s not been auditioning, I just want to focus on projects that will come my way but choosing the right ones and not where people can say that I do the same kind of roles. I was restricted in erotica and same-sex kissing but now I want to focus on something that lets me perform,” Nia said.

The actress pointed out that she would not like to put a wish out there because she is not the ‘privileged one.’ Nia refused to comment on that because once she does reveal something about a project, she could just be written off because she has no backing in the industry.

While Nia has been a part of TV and a bit of OTT, the actress is yet to work in movies. She was last seen in Jamai Raja 2.0, a show that also brought her to fame, which had a sequel and released on OTT (Zee5). On this show, Nia played the role of Roshni, who is married to Ravi Dubey’s Siddharth Khurana.

Outside of the TV world, Nia is tagged as a ‘bold’ actress and person. She cleared up the misconception and said that she is just a regular woman who has her ups and downs in life and posts things on Instagram when she feels like she is having fun.
