Actor, television presenter and producer Niharika Konidela has formally announced that she and her husband Chaitanya Jonnalagadda have mutually decided to part ways. Niharika took to social media to personally share the news with her fans and followers and to also request kindness, sensitivity and more importantly, privacy, from everyone around.

Although her statement on this matter does not explicitly the term 'divorce', one is led to believe based on the reports emerging that the couple has, indeed, chosen to legally split up.

"Chaitanya and I have decided to mutually part ways and ask for kindness and sensitivity as we move on. Thank you to my family and friends who have been pillars of support. I request some privacy for us to navigate this new normal in private. Thank you for understanding," wrote Niharika Konidela in her note. She has chosen to turn off comments on the social media post.

The announcement comes on the back of a barrage of speculations about all not being well between Niharika and Chaitanya. The rumours first surfaced when the former deleted pictures of her husband, including the ones from their grand wedding, from her profile. The chatter about their separation was fuelled further when Niharika attended brother and actor Varun Tej's engagement a few weeks ago(with Lavanya Tripathi) without Chaitanya.

Niharika Konidela is the daughter of actor Konidela Nagendra Babu or Naga Babu and the niece of megastar Chiranjeevi and Powerstar Pawan Kalyan. Actors Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Sai Dharam Tej and Vaisshnav Tej are her cousins. She married Chaitanya Jonnalagadda in December 2020 at a majestic destination wedding in Udaipur, which the entire family attended.

Having made her showbusiness debut in 2015 as the host of the dance reality show 'Dhee Junior', Niharika would launch herself as an actor the following year with 'Oka Manasu' and 'Muddapappu Avakai'. The latter, a web series, would mark the debut of her production house Pink Elephant Pictures and since then, she has produced five web shows under the banner including the latest Disney+Hotstar series Dead Pixels (also starring as Gayathri).
