Nijam with Smita: Rana Daggubati and Nani give their take on the ‘insider vs outsider’ debate and nepotism

Sony LIV forayed into the talk show space with Nijam with Smita, also their first in the non-fiction arena in Telugu, hosted by musician, actress Smita. The talk show breaks new ground with the format, by opening up discussions on specific themes with each of the guests. Veteran star Chiranjeevi and politician Chandrababu Naidu were the guests for two episodes launched on a weekly basis.

The third episode assures a double dhamaka for viewers - bringing two big names to discuss a pertinent issue. Nani, fondly addressed as ‘Natural Star’ by movie buffs, and Rana Daggubati, will be the guests for the latest episode of Nijam with Smita. A promo of the same was unveiled by the streamer on Tuesday. They give their take on the ‘insider vs outsider’ debate and nepotism in the glimpse.

While Nani shares what it means to make it big in the industry without any Godfather, Rana discloses how he outgrew the shadows of his film family to create his own identity. When Smita asks Nani on the reason behind the actor being named the ‘Natural Star’, Rana jumps in, to respond, “Because all others around him are so unnatural” and the trio has a hearty laugh.

Nani, comparing himself to Ram Charan claimed that while one lakh viewers will be ready to watch his first film, nearly a crore would queue up to watch the latter’s acting debut. Rana opined that he’d be doing a disservice to the Daggubati family if he can’t build on his ancestor’s achievements and legacy. then you’re doing.
