Abhimanyu Dassani is gearing up for the release of his silver screen outing, Nikamma. The actor, who is the son of actress Bhagyashree, recently opened up about how he had received some harsh messages from people due to his ‘star kid’ status.

In conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Abhimanyu recalled how he had gotten numerous abusive messages from people, who told him he didnt have a place in the industry. The actor said that it still used to happen with him, and he felt it was quite ‘narcissistic’ of himself to try and ‘prove himself’ to such people. But the actor also took such criticisms in his stride, saying it was all a part of the ‘game’. “I have got all the disadvantages of being an 'insider' and I have got all the disadvantages of being an 'outsider'," he said.

Abhimanyu recalled his initial days of struggle when he found himself without any direction in his life. The actor revealed that he had stopped taking money from his parents when he turned 15. The actor also talked about how he had jumped from one thing to another before he found a job assisting on film sets.

In Nikamma, Abhimanyu will share the screen with Shilpa Shetty, Shirley Setia. The upcoming film is directed by Sabbir Khan and produced under the banner of Sony Pictures International Productions and Sabbir Khan Films,
