After ruling the TRP for months, the popular Zee Bangla serial Mithai started seeing a downfall in mid-2022. Before that, the serial that features Soumitrisha Kundu and Adrit Roy was on the TRP list for more than 50 consecutive weeks. The drama of the Modak family started losing sometimes to the Singha Roy’s Gnatchhora and sometimes got beaten by Dhulokona.

The fall of Mithai worsened when it dropped below the top five positions in August this year. Even the new serials like Jagaddhatri and Khelnabari started performing better. Mithai fans were anxious that the serial would stop or slots would change, and their fear came true. However, Mithai is not ending after all. It lost its prime slot at 8 pm. Now the drama of the Modak Family will be available at 6 pm. The change will take place probably from November 14. The 8 PM slot will be taken by Nim Fuler Modhu, starring Tiasha Ray.

Meanwhile, Mithai fans are not happy and they have called to boycott the serial. The show's director Rajendra Prasad Das has commented on the situation. “We do not see it as our defeat. We rather think that a new serial will be shown at 6 PM, and are preparing accordingly. If the story is good, people will see it even at 6 PM,” he said in a recent interview.

Mithai fans are also complaining about the sloppy storyline. They complain that the side characters are getting more importance in the show and the romance between the lead characters has gone missing. They also alleged that the ‘x-factor’ of the serial is not there anymore. However, according to sources, the serial will take a big leap. The characters of Dadai and Thammi will be no more. Now it is time to see how the changes attract the audience.
