After starring in a lead role in Oru Thathwika Avalokanam earlier this year, Niranj Raju will next be seen playing the protagonist in Sajan Alummoottil’s Vivaha Ahvanam. The first poster of the movie, which is reportedly based on true incidents, was released by Mollywood its cast members on Friday through their social media pages.

Apart from Niranj, the movie also has Aju Varghese, Sabumon Abdusamad, Santhosh Keezhatoor, Balaji Sharma and Prashanth Alexander in pivotal roles. Rajeev Pillai will also be playing a pivotal role in the movie along with Sudhy Koppa, who was last seen in Saiju Kurup’s quirky thriller Antakshari that is currently streaming on Sony LIV. Nandini, Smrithy and a host of other newcomers are also part of the upcoming film, which is touted to be a satire based on real-life incidents.

Sajan had earlier helmed the entertainer Oru Murai Vanthu Parthaya, starring Unni Mukundan and Prayaga Martin. Vivaha Ahvanam, which is scripted with Nithara, has dialogues by Sajan and Sangeeth Sen. The movie is slated to hit theatres in June.

The film’s first look poster, which had the tagline ‘an extraordinary wedding’ hints at a romcom. Vishnu Prabhakar is the movie’s cinematographer while Akhil AR and Vino Thomas handle its editing and background score.

Vivaha Ahvanam could mark Niranj’s second theatrical release in June. The actor is also part of Sanjith Chandrasenan’s multi-starrer Thrayam, which is also gearing up for a theatrical release soon. In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Sanjith had told us that the movie, which also has Sunny Wayne, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Rahul Madhav, Anarkali Marikkar and Dain Davis, is a thriller shot in a non-linear format.
