Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari had to reschedule the filming of Ramayana for mid-April due to wardrobe changes, according to a report a few weeks ago. At the Film City site in Mumbai, the team started looking at the new outfits on Monday. At the same time, the team considered a number of artists for body doubles: Yash, who would play Raavan, and Ranbir Kapoor, who would play Lord Ram. Preparing for today's shoot is crucial for the team.

Cast and crew preparations for today's shoot

As per Mid Day, the cast, including Sai Pallavi, will be in front of the camera today for what is currently one of the most anticipated projects in Bollywood. There will be a lot of activity for the unit in the coming days. A source told the tabloid that the body doubles will be summoned at various points throughout the week to film stunts against the green screen. The crew also called the extras to the set on Monday to prepare for the crowd scenes. The crew plans to film multiple dramatic crowd scenarios over the course of the following several days. When it comes to his greatest opus, Nitesh desires nothing short of perfection.

Tiwari has been aiming to start the shoot for Ramayana in March since the end of last year. After doing some research, it appears that the shoot has been delayed by one month. The tabloid revealed the reason behind it: the art department and the costume department reportedly require more time to refine the sets and the costumes, respectively.

Importance of authenticity in the Ramayana project

The producers decided to reevaluate the clothes after conducting a look test on the main cast in February. The outfits were real, according to the source, but they lacked stage presence and majesty. They brought on board more costume designers with experience in mythological sacrifices in the first week of March 2024. They secured all the outfits by March 25.

The most anticipated project is definitely the Ramayana, due to the epic's importance in Indian culture. Tiwari resolved not to begin filming until he was completely satisfied with all of its elements after Adipurush received negative feedback last year. The source shared that it must remain faithful to the epic's essence. It was also earlier reported that filming is scheduled to take place between April 12 and 15, and the set will also undergo some minor modifications.

With the first instalment set to premiere in 2025, the epic saga is currently in the planning stages of a trilogy.
