The makers of Mithran Jawahar's upcoming Thiruchitrambalam have been releasing the character posters from the film that stars Dhanush, Nithya Menen, Raashi Khanna and Priya Bhavani Shankar. The latest character poster to be out is that of Nithya Menen, who is playing Dhanush's best friend in the film. Her character is called Shobana. The team had recently released the character posters of Raashi Khanna and Priya Bhavani Shankar. While Raashi is playing Dhanush's classmate Anusha, Priya Bhavani Shankar is playing a village belle called Ranjani.

The production house shared, "Meet #Thiruchitrambalam’s Best Friend — Nithya Menen as Shobana @dhanushkraja @anirudhofficial @MithranRJawahar @prakashraaj #Bharathiraja @MenenNithya @RaashiiKhanna_ @priya_Bshankar @omdop @editor_prasanna @jacki_art @theSreyas @kavya_sriram @kabilanchelliah (sic).

The film also stars Prakash Raj and Bharathiraaja and their character posters, too, were released today. While Prakash Raj plays the strict inspector Neelankandan, Bharathiraaja plays senior Thiruchitrambalam, the grandfather of Dhanush. Dhanush plays the titual character and is said to be playing an Ilaiyaraaja fan in the film.

The film marks the return of the iconic duo DnA- Dhanush and Anirudh- after a gap of five years. Anirudh had begun his film career with Dhanush's 3 and the duo later went on to work in Velai Ila Pattadhaari, Maari and Thanga Magan. Om Prakash who handled the cinemtography for Dhanush's previous films, Anegan, Maari, Maari 2 and Pattas, will crank the camera for Thiruchitrambalam. Prasanna GK, who made his debut with Maari, will handle the editing. Mithran Jawahar had earlier directed Dhanush in Yaaradi Nee Mohini, Uthamaputhiran and Kutty.

This is Dhanush's 44th film. Sun Pictures is producing the film, while Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies is releasing it. Thiruchitrambalam is likely to hit screens around Dhanush's birthday. Fans of Dhanush had recently tagged the production house and expressed their disappointment over the lack of updates from the team. The producers immediately took this as a remedial step and released the character posters.
