Debutant director Godfy Babu’s Enthaada Saji will be special for its stars in many ways. The movie marks the reunion of Jayasurya and Kunchacko Boban, six years after Shahjahanum Pareekuttyum, and also actress Nivetha Thomas’ comeback to Malayalam after a gap of eight years.
Nivetha, who made her debut with Veruthe Oru Bharya in 2008, had last worked in Mollywood in the film Money Ratnam, opposite Fahadh Faasil. While she has been active mostly in Telugu in the past decade, this is her first Malayalam film in a while.
The actress had previously worked with Kunchacko in the 2013 comedy caper Romans, which also had Biju Menon as part of the cast. Her role in Enthaadi Saji has been kept under wraps with a source from the team revealing only that she plays a “normal youngster”.
The movie went on floors in Thodupuzha, Idukki, on April 1. The film, produced by Listin Stephen, is a fun, family entertainer. In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Godfy said, “It’s a light-hearted film that the family audience had watch in theatres and enjoy.” The filmmaker also said that the story revolves around the struggles and joys in the daily lives of people in a village.
The film’s motion poster was revealed in November and it had a tagline – Montpellier to Illickal. The director, who has also scripted the film, told us that though it’s not a road movie, the Italian city has a significance to the story.
Meanwhile, Kunchacko has completed shooting for Fellini TP’s Ottu aka Rendagam, which also has Arvind Swamy, Mahesh Narayanan’s Ariyippu and Ajai Vasudev’s Pakalum Pathiraavum. The actor is also part of Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval’s Nna, Thaan Case Kodu. Jayasurya, who has wrapped up the shoot of the thriller titled John Luther, is awaiting the release of Meri Awas Suno, which will hit theatres in May this year.
