Nivin Pauly is all set for the release of his second theatrical release since the pandemic with Padavettu. The movie, which went on floors in 2019, took about three years to complete shooting due to the pandemic restrictions. However, that’s not the say that the intensity of its story or its characters have dimmed one bit.

In recent interviews promoting the movie, the actor said Padavettu is “an intense drama” that revolves around the battle of his character, Ravi, to reclaim his life from a point where he has nothing left to lose.

“Padavettu is a tale of survival, about how a person named Ravi develops a mental resistance. My character is someone who doesn’t have a job or is unable to work. So, he’s someone who has faced failures and when people try to defeat him again, he develops resistance,” said Nivin, in another interview.

The actor will be seen in two get-ups in the film, which he says denotes two different phases in Ravi’s journey. “Padavettu is also a relatable story in terms of its settings as well as the characters,” said the actor, explaining that the politics that film tackles is also something that people would feel have happened around them.

Despite being a drama that has a rural backdrop, the actor clarifies that it’s “not a slow-paced movie”. “It has several high moments and there are elements of a thriller,” added the actor, who also has Rosshan Andrrews’ Saturday Night set for release on November 4.

Apart from Nivin, Padavettu also has Aditi Balan, Shammi Thilakan, Shine Tom Chacko and Indrans as part of the cast. The movie, which is helmed by Liju Krishna, is co-produced by actor Sunny Wayne. Govind Vasantha has composed the tracks of the movie, which is set to hit theatres on October 21 along with Mohanlal’s Monster.
