Nivin Pauly is set to back-to-back theatrical releases from next month, if all goes according to plan. The actor has Rajeev Ravi’s Thuramukham, Abrid Shine’s Mahaveeryar and Liju Krishna’s Padavettu set to hit theatres this year.

His movie Padavettu, which began shooting in 2019, was initially set for a March 2022 release but due to the pandemic, the film’s final s chedule has been pushed, further delaying its release. The latest report is that the actor will resume shooting for the movie, which also has Aditi Balan and Shine Tom Chacko, from February 20 in Kannur. This will mark the final schedule of the political drama about the fight of common man against systems that oppress them.

Nivin’s next release Thuramukham too is a period political drama, set in the 1940s and 50s. The Rajeev Ravi directorial has already deferred its theatrical release date twice in the past two years, due the surge in COVID-19 cases at various junctures. Thuramukham, which also has Indrajith Sukumaran, Joju George, Poornima Indrajith, Arjun Ashokan and is currently set for a March 2022 release, according to a source from the team.

Meanwhile, Nivin has also completed filming Mahaveeryar, the first look of which was revealed last week. The Abrid Shine directorial, however, will only hit theatres after Thuramukham. Mahaveeryar, which also has Asif Ali and Shanvi Srivastava, has a mix of reality and fantasy. Based on a story of renowned writer M Mukundan, the movie was extensively shot in Rajasthan and has a huge star cast also featuring Lal, Lalu Alex, Sidhique, Major Ravi, Mallika Sukumaran, Padmarajan Ratheesh and Sooraj S Kurup.

Nivin is currently shooting for Ram’s untitled Tamil film, which also has Anjali. Up next in Malayalam, he will next begin shooting Ishq director Anuraj Manohar’s Shekhara Varma Rajavu, which he will also be producing.
