Niyati Fatnani, who is plays an author named Asmita in the web series Dear Ishq, says she is opposite in nature of her character in the show.

Niyati plays Asmita, a Bengali girl from Kolkata who is an award-winning literary editor, and an admirer of Premchand and Rabindranath Tagore.

Talking about her character, the actress said, "Asmita is a well-educated Bengali girl, who is dignified and respected. But she can be opinionated and can provoke others, especially Abhimanyu Razdan (played by Sehban Azim). However, in real life, I am quite the opposite. I am not that stubborn."

The actress added that in real-life, she believes in giving more chances to people and understanding a person better.

Niyati has earlier acted in popular television series like D4-Get Up and Dance, Yeh Moh Moh Ke Dhaagey, Nazar and Channa Mereya.

Dear Ishq is a story of two completely opposite personalities, who unknowingly fall for each other. It is directed by Atif Khan and produced by Yash Patnaik and Mamta Patnaik under the Beyond Dreams Entertainment Private Limited banner. The show is based on the book Write Me A Love Story written by Ravinder Singh.

Sharing insights into his character, Sehban who plays Abhimanyu in the show, said, "He is the blue-eyed boy of Indian publishing, known for his best-selling romance novels. He’s drunk on his success…not at all a quintessential guy. He’s rather callous and egoistic."

Sehban was earlier seen in television shows like Dill Mil Gayya, Thapki Pyaar Ki and Tujhse Hai Raabta.

Dear Ishq also stars Kishwer Merchant, Kunal Verma, Sanjeev Seth, Beena Banerjee and Vikas Grover. It is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. -
