Among the many heart-warming films that have come in Tamil cinema, the latest to join the list is Nizharkudai, a 2025 Tamil film headlined by actor Devayani. The film was released in theatres earlier in May and is now available for streaming on Aha Tamil and OTTplay Premium. Besides the Suryavamsam actor, Nizharkudai also stars actors Vijjith and Kanmani Manoharan, among others.

It is written and directed by filmmaker Shiva Arumugam. Produced by Jothisiva under his Dharshan Films, Nizharkudai has cinematography done by RB Gurudev, music by Naren Balakumar, and editing done by Rolex.

Nizharkudai revolves around a Tamil refugee who forms a deep and affectionate bond with a child whose parents are chasing their dream to go to the US and settle down. However, what ensues is an emotional roller-coaster ride when the child's parents have to decide to choose between their dream and the strong bond their child has formed with the caregiver already, putting them in a tough spot.
