The grand gala event of the launch of the much-talked about ‘Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre’ (NMACC) saw the presence of many celebrities. While Shah Rukh Khan’s look and a video of him describing his overall experience of attending the show went viral in no time, there was yet another video which also went viral. You guessed it right! The one that had Varun Dhawan and supermodel Gigi Hadid, in which the former lifted up the latter on the fay two of the grand event. Varun Dhawan had performed to his popular tracks viz., ‘Apna Bana Le’ from the film ‘Bhediya’ and ‘Garmi’ from the film ‘Street Dancer 3D’.
It was during his performance to the ‘Garmi’ track, that he picked up supermodel Gigi Hadid in his arms and also gave her a peck on the cheek. The said video went viral in no time on the internet. Not just that, there were many netizens who went onto accuse Varun Dhawan of not getting the consent of Gigi Hadid during the act. Gigi Hadid, on her part, took to Instagram stories and posted the photo in which she can be seen being lifted by Varun Dhawan. She captioned the post stating, ‘@Varundvn making my Bollywood dreams come tru’. This was followed by a lot of laughing emojis which she had posted after her line.
For the unversed, when the video of Varun Dhawan lifting up Gigi Hadid went viral, one of the users had even tweeted stating, "If you are a woman, you are not safe anywhere with anyone. Even if you are Gigi Hadid, invited to a party with an "elite" crowd, guys like Varun Dhawan will randomly pick you up and kiss you without your consent, all in the name of fun. Disgusting. (sic)".
The ‘Judwaa 2’ star Varun Dhawan had replied to the aforementioned tweet (which is deleted by now) by stating, "I guess today you woke up and decided to be woke. So let me burst your bubble and tell you it was planned for her to be on stage, so find a new Twitter cause to vent about rather than going out and doing something about things. Good morning. (sic)"
