Not Bilal, but Mammootty to reunite with Amal Neerad for a new project

Mammootty is going through an excellent phase in his acting career, with the back-to-back successes of his recent movies. The megastar is currently on a signing spree and has some highly promising projects in his kitty. As per the latest updates, Mammootty is now set to reunite with Bheeshma Parvam director Amal Neerad soon. However, the duo has no plans to revive their long-delayed project, Bilal, anytime soon.

Mammootty and Amal Neerad to team up for a new project

The celebrated actor-director duo is reportedly set to reunite after the massive success of their 2022 blockbuster, Bheeshma Parvam. However, there is disappointing news for the Malayalam cinema audiences, who have been eagerly waiting for Bilal, the sequel to their first outing, Big B. As per the reports, the project has been put on the back burner for now. Mammootty and Amal Neerad are reportedly planning to join hands again for another project.

As per the recent updates, Amal Neerad is planning to kickstart the production of the untitled Mammootty starrer after he wraps up his upcoming project, which stars Kunchacko Boban in the lead role. Even though nothing much has been revealed about the Big B duo’s next outing, the reports suggest that the project will be yet another stylized action flick. The megastar and popular filmmaker are planning to announce the project by the first quarter of 2024. The untitled action thriller will go on floors by mid-2024 and might hit theatres by the first half of 2025.

Mammootty’s work front

The megastar is currently on high with the excellent opening of his latest outing, Kaathal - The Core. The Jeo Baby directorial features Mammootty in the role of Mathew Devassy, a closet homosexual man. The veteran actor has a massive line-up of upcoming projects, including horror thriller Bramayugam, mass action thriller Turbo, and much more. He is also reportedly planning to join hands with writer-director Ranjan Pramod on a project bankrolled by his home banner, Mammootty Kampany.
