According to music-streaming site Spotify, this Indian singer has recorded 15.3 billion streams in 2022, thereby making her the most-streamed artist of the bygone year.

Indian musicians and their appeal seem to go way beyond geographical boundaries. And, based on the recently released streaming data of Spotify, you know it is true.

Bollywood singer Alka Yagnik, who has featured on the Guiness Book of World Records for a third year in a row, for being the most-streamed singer of 2022. Yagnik, who has rendered many classic numbers in her career spanning decades, has left global artists such as Taylor Swift, Drake and Beyonce behind by a huge margin, according to a news report by Hindustan Times.

According to the Guiness Book of World Records, Alka's songs have recorded a total of 15.3 billion streams, thereby averaging 42 million streams per day.

Interestingly, Alka Yagnik has been the most-streamed artist for the third time in a row. In 2021, she had a total of 17 billion streams and in 2020, her streaming numbers were a staggering 16.6 billion.

Second to her on the list of most-streamed is Bad Bunny with 14.7 billion streams. The third most-streamed artists on the list is an Indian singer, so is the fourth and fifth mpost-streamed artists. While Udit Narayan secured the third spot with a whopping 10.8 billion streams, singer Arijit Singh’s songs were listened to for a total of 10.7 billion times in one year, and Bollywood’s legendary singer Kumar Sanu was streamed over 9.09 billion times.

Interestingly, world-famous K-Pop band BTS managed to get a total of 7.95 billion streams, while girl K-Pop band BLACKPINK was streamed for 7.03 billion times. Both the bands made it to the top 10, while American singer The Weeknd finished 13th, with a total streaming number of 5.7 billion, Taylor Swift was at the 26th spot with 4.33 billion streams and Drake came 50th with a total number of 2.9 billion streams.
