Not just Indian Police Force, Shilpa Shetty-Rohit Shetty share an old connection

Shilpa Shetty Kundra is the leading actress in Rohit Shetty’s upcoming web series, Indian Police Force. Featuring Sidharth Malhotra as the first lead and Vivek Oberoi as the second lead with her, the show is a part of the Rohit Shetty cop universe. Did you however know that Shilpa Shetty and Rohit Shetty are actually connected even before they worked on Indian Police Force?

Shilpa’s old connection with Rohit

Shilpa Shetty’s father Surendra has worked with Rohit’s father Muddu Babu Shetty in the past. They both were in the stunt team for Yaadon Ki Baaraat and Rafoo Chakkar.

On Indian Police Force

Shilpa was initially not a part of Indian Police Force. Her character was originally written for a male actor but Rohit approached Shilpa while she was shooting for Sukhee in Chandigarh.

The show also features Shweta Tiwari, Nikitin Dheer, Rituraj Singh and Mukesh Rishi in pivotal roles. It will premiere on Amazon Prime Video from January 19.

Rohit approached Shilpa 14 years back

During her recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Shilpa Shetty revealed that Rohit Shetty had actually approached her 14 years back. It was for the female lead in Golmaal. This was for the first installment, Golmaal: Fun Unlimited, which released in 2006. Eventually, Rimi Sen played the leading actress in the movie. Of course, Shilpa was gutted to not be a part of the popular franchise. Now, the leading female face of Golmaal is Kareena Kapoor Khan. She is also a part of Rohit’s upcoming Singham Again.

Why Shilpa turned down Golmaal

Shilpa could not take up Golmaal because she had just won Big Brother. The actress said in her interview, “We were supposed to work even 14 years ago; he had approached me for Golmaal. But I had just won Big Brother and was travelling, he was doing his things.”
