The release date of Jawan is getting closer. Nayanthara is getting ready for her first Hindi feature with the Atlee-directed movie. Shah Rukh Khan, who Nayanthara has repeatedly cited as her favorite actor, will be paired with her in the movie. Since the trailer of the film has been released, the film has become the talk of the town.
But if rumors are to be believed, Jawan was originally planned to star Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who co-starred with Nayanthara in Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal.
Why did Samantha reject Jawan?
According to reports, Samantha declined the offer to act in Jawan because she wanted to start a family with her ex-husband Naga Chaitanya at the time. According to rumours, Samantha received the SRK starrer offer in 2019.
There is no official confirmation as to whether this in and of itself is the reason Samantha rejected Jawan or whether she was ever even given the opportunity to star in the movie. These are all just rumors as neither Samantha nor the Jawan team have officially acknowledged or refuted the reports.
Samantha's work front
Kushi, a romantic film starring Samantha and Vijay Deverakonda, was released today, on September 1. The actress also has the Indian leg of Citadel where she will share the screen space with Varun Dhawan and it will be directed by The Family Man duo Raj & DK.
About Jawan
The film also features Deepika Padukone in a special appearance and Priyamani, Sunil Grover, Yogi Babu, Riddhi Dogra, Astha Agarwal, Sanya Malhotra, Eijaz Khan, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Amritha Aiyer, Kenny Basumatary, Girija Oak, and Lehar Khan in pivotal roles. Directed by Atlee, Jawan is slated to release on July 7, 2023.
