Rajkummar Rao-Wamiqa Gabbi's Bhool Chuk Maaf was under hot waters when the makers decided to skip the theatrical release and opt for direct-to-OTT at the end moment. PVR Inox sued the makers and the case was taken to court. Soon after, Bhool Chuk Maaf's release altogether was put on hold. Now, there could be a new update on the film.
Pinkvilla has quoted a source close to the development as stating that after the court hearing, it was decided that Bhool Chuk Maaf will release in theatres as originally planned. The ruling could come after both the parties involved decided it would be the best move. The movie was shifted to an OTT release amid the tensions between India and Pakistan, but the matter is almost resolved after ceasefire was announced.
Bhool Chuk Maaf is likely to be out in theatres on May 23. The promotions for the movie are expected to restart from May 15.
The movie, featuring Aligarh actor Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead roles is likely to skip the eight-week hold for OTT release and could be out on Amazon Prime Video on June 6 itself. An official confirmation on the same is expected soon. Dinesh Vijan (Go Goa Gone producer) is likely to make an announcement through his official channels of Maddock Films anytime.
The original plan was to attach Param Sundari (Jabariya Jodi actor Sidharth Malhotra's film with Janhvi Kapoor) and Thama (Ayushmann Khurrana's movie with Rashmika Mandanna)'s teasers along with Bhool Chuk Maaf's theatrical release. These were supposed to be theatre-exclusive teasers. However, there is no confirmation from the makers on the same so far.
