NTR 31: Yash and Prashanth Neel in no rush to start KGF 3? Here's what we know...

The recent announcement concerning NTR 31, the much-anticipated collaboration between Prashanth Neel and Jr NTR, seems to have put things in perspective on several fronts. After Mythri Movie Makers revealed with a social media post that the film is set to go on floors in March of 2024, it became certain that both Neel and NTR are aiming at wrapping up their commitments within the next 9-10 months before plunging into the mega project. Prashanth Neel has Salaar to focus on in the interim and with that film confirmed to release worldwide on September 28, he can be expected to get started with NTR 31 pre-production soon after.

But where does this existing schedule place KGF 3, the third instalment that Hombale Films (almost) confirmed very recently? On April 14, to mark the first anniversary of the release of K.G.F: Chapter 2, the makers of the franchise left a not-so-cryptic hint that the next instalment will focus on Rocky Bhai's whereabouts between the years 1978 and 1981, a timeframe that is mighty crucial to the overall scheme of things. Though the concluding moments of KGF 2 suggest that Rocky takes his own life (in a fitting larger-than-life manner), fans and KGF aficionados strongly believe that those three years withhold a lot of secrets. And should you look up social media in search of theories and speculations, you will find them in plenitude. 

That said, what we hear now is that Prashanth Neel is yet to pen the script of KGF3 and that the team is currently in no rush to get started. Both Yash and Neel, apparently, wish to take things on floors only when the perfect script is penned down by the latter - considering the stakes involved, one cannot blame them to be extra cautious. Moreover, fans are more concerned about Yash's next film Yash 19 and should that project be announced anytime soon, one wouldn't mind waiting a bit longer for KGF 3.
