Last year, we reported that actor Jr NTR of RRR fame will be teaming up with director Prashanth Neel for a film, who has delivered films like KGF and Salaar. Now, on Wednesday, the makers have announced that the much-anticipated film, tentatively titled NTRNeel, will kickstart its shooting with the actor who will join the sets from April 22.
While there had been silence about Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel’s film for a while now, the production house Mythri Movie Makers, which is backing the project, dropped a major update. The actor is all set to begin shooting for the film from April 22 onwards.
Jr NTR, who became popular through his early successes like Baadshah and Ashok, was last seen in Devara: Part 1, directed by Koratala Siva. Even though the film did not do well, the actor’s next film has hyped up expectations. The RRR-fame actor is all set to collaborate with Prashanth Neel.
The film is tentatively titled NTRNeel, marking the first collaboration of the director and actor. Mythri Movie Makers is bankrolling the film with a lavish budget. Expected to be a period film set in China, Bhutan, and West Bengal regions during 1969, the film's makers initially announced that the film would release on January 9, 2026. However, the latest buzz suggests that the project will get delayed to April.
Even as Prashanth Neel gained fame with the KGF film franchise, the director made his debut with the Kannada film Ugramm, which is available for streaming on OTTplay Premium. You can watch KGF 1 and 2 on Prime Video, starring Yash, while you can stream his latest directorial, Salaar, on Netflix.
