Nushrratt Bharuccha starrer Chhorii gets a sequel, here's all you need to know

Vishal Furia, who directed the original Marathi film Lapachappi, on which Chhorrii is based, established his authority on the genre with the latter. Encouraged by the success and popularity of Chhorii, the creators have decided to continue the story franchise and present the next chapter to its fans.

The sequel, tentatively titled Chhorii 2, will pick up Sakshi's story where the first film left off, bringing back some key characters as well as introducing new scares, promising to be even more terrifying than the first. Vishal Furia returns to direct Chhorii 2, as does Nushrratt Bharuccha in the lead role. The producers will continue to be Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vikram Malhotra, Jack Davis, and Shikhaa Sharma.

This film also represents a step forward in the collaboration between Abundantia Entertainment and LA-based Crypt TV to create platform-agnostic, genre-defying horror stories. It will also be the second venture of Psych, Abundantia Entertainment's vertical focused on horror and paranormal stories.

Director Vishal Furia says of the sequel that he is thrilled to take the Chhorii story to the next level with its sequel. He had always imagined the horror flick as a multi-film franchise, and he began plotting the sequel while filming the first instalment. The love for Chhorii has been overwhelming for Furia, and he is excited to embark on another adventure with Nushratt and his producers, who have always stood by him and supported his vision.

Chhorii is over the moon with the amazing reactions and success that Chhorii has received. The actor shared that the film was a significant departure from the work she had previously done, and seeing the risk rewarded was a wonderful feeling. She went on to say that Chhorii is a passion project for them and she is excited to work with Vishal and the team as they continue the story with Chhorii 2.
