Millions of people in India are celebrating Eid on Thursday. Everyone, from common people to celebrities, is in a festive mood. Actress Nusrat Jahan thinks that religion is personal but the festival is universal. She participates in Durga Puja, offers Anjali, takes part in Rath Yatra, and celebrates Christmas. However, Eid means some amount of extra excitement to Nusrat.

Nusrat’s son Yishaan is almost three now. Nusrat’s Eid will be spent in her house at Palm Avenue in Ballygunge Park. What are her plans for this day? Nusrat shared her plans with Hindustan Times Bangla. Nusrat said, “I will spend the day at home. After namaz in the morning, we will have delicious meals. Our friends, relatives, and extended family will come. My parents went to Mecca this year and hence they can’t spend the day with us. My sister lives abroad due to her job.”

Eid means sumptuous meals and savoring Awadhi or Mughlai dishes, ignoring diet. Nusrat is a fabulous cook. She will cook Biryani on this day. She said, “Biryani is a must on the menu which I will cook. There will be mutton and chicken kebabs. Also, there will be a lot of desserts. Eid means no-diet and no-exercise.” The actress added, “I am from Park Circus, I grew up here. Hence I have dal puri, or halwa-puri, or nihari-puri for breakfast. Eid is impossible without these.”

Eid also means shopping and giving gifts. The actress said that her shopping has been done. She will have a traditional dress. She bought new clothes for Yash, Yshaan, and all the workers in the house. She is away from politics now and will spend the day with her family.
