The Royals starring Bhumi Pednekar and Ishaan Khatter is streaming on Netflix. The series follows the love story of a CEO and a royal heir exploring personal struggles and family issues. Even though the series received mixed responses, the show has been doing well on the OTT platform. Amid this, Ishaan, who played the role of the royal heir aka Maharaja Aviraaj, has been getting praise for his acting. In a new interview, the actor revealed that he is not like Aviraaj in real life.
Speaking to NDTV, Ishaan Khatter opened up about his royal character, Maharaja Aviraaj, in The Royals. He is the royal heir, has some issues with his deranged family, almost wants to skip taking responsibility for the royal house, but in the end, he agrees to do it. However, in the interview, he revealed that Ishaan is different from Aviraaj in real life.
He said, "I think Aviraaj as a character is very different from me. There was a significant distance for me to cover, to find Aviraaj and become Aviraaj, but at the same time, I think I did bring myself to the character quite a bit in the more sensitive moments, as you mentioned."

He also said that he wanted to delve deeper into the father track. Ishaan said that much of it was kept secret from the audience and that Aviraaj and his father are never seen together, which was a deep wound.
"He's very sensitive about his relationship with his father. It was probably a very good relationship. It's probably the one good relationship. Until it wasn't. I wanted to bring that out, I guess I succeeded," Khatter added.
The cast of The Royals features the veteran actress Zeenat Aman, Bhumi Pednekar, Ishaan Khatter, Sakshi Tanwar, Milind Soman, Nora Fatehi, Dino Morea, Chunky Panday, Vihaan Samat, Kavya Trehan, Sumukhi Suresh, Udit Arora, Lisa Mishra, and Luke Kenny.
The Royals centers on a fictional Indian royal family where a prince, reluctant to take on royal duties, meets a CEO tasked with turning the palace into a five-star bed and breakfast. The series explores themes of class differences, tradition versus modernity, and the clash between a traditional, aristocratic family and a driven, modern businesswoman.
