Priya Mani recounted that that Mammootty apologised to her at least 4-5 times, saying “I have to do this” since it is there in the script.

Priya Mani said she assured Mammmootty that “it was ok”. Pranchiyettan plot and the kick scene

For the unversed, the 2010 Malayalam film follows the life of Francis aka Pranchiyettan, who is disappointed that he hasn’t been able to make a name for himself despite being a rich businessman. In a bid to get fame and recognition, he attempts to even get hold of the civilian honour of Padmashree.

Despite spending huge amounts, his attempts turn futile. He is left ridiculed and is forced to stay indoors avoiding everyone. However, a woman knocks at his door, and when he enquires who it is – she replies ‘Padmashree’. Assuming that someone has come home to make fun of him, Pranchiyettan opens the door and kicks the person who falls onto the ground unconscious. This scene marks the entry of Priya Mani’s character and she strikes a bond with Pranchiyettan after the initial confusion.
