Officer On Duty Day 3 box office collection: Kunchacko Boban returned to the cop role with Officer On Duty, which has secured mostly glowing reviews from critics. After a rather slow start, the Jithu Ashraf directorial saw sensational growth on Saturday, earning Rs 2.65 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. Here is the box office collection of Officer on Duty.
Kunchacko Boban’s Officer On Duty, which was released in theatres on February 20, 2025, collected Rs 2.65 crore on its first Saturday at the ticket window. This is a significant jump from the day 1 and day 2 earnings, which were Rs 1.25 crore a nd 1.7 crore, respectively. The total 3-day collection of Officer On Duty stands at Rs 5.60 crore.
The thriller film saw an overall occupancy of around 50.90 per cent, with night shows registering the highest occupancy of 75.85 per cent. Among the centres in Kerala, Kochi saw the highest occupancy at 63.75 per cent. Outside the state, Chennai and Bengaluru also saw 77.00 per cent and 66.75 per cent, respectively, which is an encouraging sign for a Malayalam movie.
The positive word-of-mouth publicity for the movie led to additional shows being added and the thriller looks poised to have a Super Sunday at the box office. The other Malayalam movie to release in theatres this week is Get-Set Baby, starring Unni Mukundan. Notably, this is the first release of Unni Mukundan after the violent action thriller Marco. However, the movie, which also stars Nikhila Vimal, has got mixed reviews and does not look to be a challenge to the Kunchacko Boban-starrer.
Last week, three Malayalam films - Daveed, Painkili and Bromance - were released on Valentine’s Day.
Kunchacko Boban plays Harishankar, who has been demoted to a circle inspector. The film follows him as he probes a counterfeit jewellery case, but it leads to a tragic consequence. Jagadish stars as Chandrababu, a bus conductor, while Priyamani is seen as Geetha. The critics have praised the well-crafted thriller for its gripping plot, which is penned by Shahi Kabir
