Officer on Duty: Kunchacko Boban’s cop thriller follows Marco's path, set for Tamil and Telugu release

Kunchacko Boban-starrer Officer on Duty has created a quite an impression with its gripping plot and stellar performances. Even as the Jithu Ashraf directorial film is garnering overwhelming responses from audiences in Kerala, there has been a demand for the dubbed versions of Officer on Duty from other states. Latest media reports state that the Telugu and Tamil-dubbed versions of Officer On Duty will be released in March. Another Malayalam film that was recently dubbed and released in these two languages was Unni Mukundan’s Marco.  

Officer on Duty set for Tamil and Telugu release 

The growing popularity of Officer on Duty has led to demands for the Kunchacko Boban-starrer to be released in Tamil and Telugu languages. E4 Entertainment has secured the dubbing rights of the Malayalam cop film, according to various reports. The dubbed versions of Officer on Duty are likely to release in Tamil Nadu, and Telugu states in March 2025.

Marco dubbed in Tamil and Telugu too

Officer on Duty follows the path of Marco, which was also dubbed in Tamil and Telugu after the violent actioner impressed audiences in Kerala and became a raging topic of discussion. The dubbed versions of Marco too won over audiences in other states and ensured that the Unni Mukundan-starrer entered the Rs 100-crore club. 

It remains to be seen if Officer on Duty will be able to script a success story in Tamil Nadu and Telugu states. 

Officer on Duty cast and plot

Headlined by Kunchacko Boban, Officer on Duty also features Priyamani, Jagadish, Vishak Nair, Ramzan Muhammed and Meenakshi Anoop. Kunchacko Boban plays police officer Harishankar, who was recently demoted to a circle inspector. 

The thrilling film follows the cop after he takes up a case of fake gold chains. Priyamani plays the cop’s wife. Jagadish appears KSRTC bus conductor Chandrababu. The film, directed by debutant Jithu Ashraf and written by Shahi Kabir, has garnered positive reviews. The film, which released in theatres on February 20, 2025, is set to make its OTT premiere on Netflix. Though an official release date is yet to be announced, Officer on Duty could be availabl e for streaming in March 2025.
