Voice of Sathyanathan and Valatty were among the films that got pushed from their respective scheduled release dates in July due to several reasons. Now according to the latest update, Arjun Ashokan’s Olam is also facing a delay. The film was initially slated to release on July 7, but it looks like the movie is now going to hit the theatres only on August 4. It’s got a U/A certificate, and is touted to be a suspense thriller with elements of fantasy.

In the trailer of the film, you can see Arjun and Noby embarking on a mountaineering expedition to reunite with a friend. During the expedition, Arjun meets a mysterious character, played by Lenaa. However, things take an unexpected turn when Arjun is drugged, and the following the trailer shows glimpses of an investigation.

Helmed by debutant director VS Abhilash, the film features Arjun and Lenaa in key roles. Lenaa has also co-written the script with the director. Olam is her first script in her 23-year-long film career.

The movie also features notable actors like Binu Pappu, Harishree Ashokan and Noby Marcose, among others. Harishree Ashokan and Arjun will be seen as father and son similar to their roles in Parava. The cinematography is done by Neeraj Ravi, with editing handled by Shamjit Mohammed.

Arjun - who earlier played supporting characters in Parava, Varathan and B. Tech - has recently started to feature in lead roles. His performance in Romancham, which stormed the theatres, was lauded by the audience. The horror comedy featured Arjun as Sinu, a mysterious character. His expression and mannerisms in the movie got a separate fan base after its release.

Apart from comedy roles, Arjun was also seen in a serious avatar in Nivin Pauly’s Thuramukham, which depicted harbour workers’ discontent with the ‘chappa’ labour allocation system. He is joining the team of Vellimoonga for his new film Theepori Benny, which is dubbed an entertainer. He will be also seen alongside Kunchako Boban in Chaaver, one of the most anticipated action thrillers, directed by Tinu Paapachan.
