Rashtra Kavach Om: Aditya Roy Kapur says he has been always waiting to do action film

Actor Aditya Roy Kapur will next be seen in an all-out-and-out action film, titled Rashtra Kavach Om. The romantic hero is attempting an action flick for the first time. Speaking to Bollywoodlife, the actor said he has always wanted to do an action film since the day he became an actor. 

Aditya who is known for playing romantic roles in films like Aashiqui and Ok Jaanu, opened up about his experience working in an action film. He said it was fun working on the film. "It’s been something that I wanted to do since I became an actor. It just took me a while to find the right thing. It was a fun challenge that I wanted to take up. It required a lot of physical work and it goes hand in hand when you doing an action film," he said, adding that it was a challenging but rewarding experience.

The actor also talked about the pressure to do commercially well as not many Bollywood films have been able to make a mark at the box office this year. When asked if he feels pressurised about the box office numbers, he said there's no reason to add to the already existing pressure. He feels pressure and has several anxieties every time a film releases and wouldn't like any more reason to add to the pressure. He said, “I feel every time a movie releases there’s always pressure and anxieties that go along with it as you put it forward in front of the world and hope for them to like it. So, there are enough pressures, and there’s no reason to add more to them.”

The film Rashtra Kavach Om is directed by Kapil Verma and also Sanjana Sanghi in the lead role. It also features veteran actors like Jackie Shroff, Ashutosh Rana, Prachee Shah, and Prakash Raj. The trailer of the film was released recently and the fans seem excited about the movie and to watch Aditya Roy Kapur in the new avatar. 

The actor had also recently released a BTS video from the sets, showing his prep and transformation for the film, where he plays the role of a para commander. The movie is slated to release on July 1, 2022.
