Om: The Battle Within teaser — Aditya Roy Kapur deals with his own demons, fights bad guys while proclaiming his love for his country

Aditya Roy Kapur is the newest action hero in town with Om: The Battle Within, where he has his hands full playing the saviour and protector. The teaser trailer for the movie was released today.

The brief clip begins with Aditya's character Om unable to recall his past, and then we are introduced to his bad guy bashing spree, him free falling from a plane and riding a bike at full speed on a freeway to god knows where, and in the end proclaiming his love for his country. Om displays superhuman strength, cartwheels on ship decks, while the text on the screen talks about how he is on an endless search. 

Like any other Hindi actioner, this one also has a bombastic one-liner, which the makers probably hope will be remembered by the audiences: "Ek ladai ko jeetne ke liye usse kai baar ladna padta hai, rakth rahe ya na rahe rashtra humesha rahega. (To win a battle, you have to fight over and over again. Till the last drop of my blood, I'll protect my nation.)"

However, the teaser does not give much away except for the rollercoaster ride of gory violence that Om goes on. The movie was previously described to be about "emotionally disturbed relationships in the line of duty."

Om: The Battle Within doesn't seem to offer anything new except for Aditya in a brand new jacked up avatar. But it's still too soon to make assumptions about the movie, which also stars Sanjana Sanghi in her second outing after Dil Bechara. 

The movie is directed by Kapil Verma from a story and screenplay by Niket Pandey and Akshat R Saluja. Zee Studios along with Ahmed Khan and Shaira Khan (of Paper Doll Entertainment) are the producers.

Om: The Battle Within releases on July 1.
