OMG 2: Twitter reactions to the track ‘Oonchi oonchi waadi’, netizens feel like they are connected with Lord Shiva

The Akshay Kumar starrer ‘OMG 2’ has been scheduled to release on August 11. The last few days had been extremely bumpy for the makers of the film. The bumpy ride started after a news report stated that the film’s premise has a strong plot touching upon the LGBTQ community. No sooner did this news go viral, the proceedings started becoming seemingly uphill for the film’s makers.

Taking a ‘cue’ from the backlash which the Prabhas starrer Adipurush had received because of its content, the Censor Board decided to play it safe and hence, put the film ‘OMG 2’ on hold. This was followed by the Central Board of Certification (CBFC) sending the film to the Revising Committee as a ‘pre-emptive’ measure. News also started doing the rounds that the CBFC Chairperson Prasoon Joshi would personally watch the film.

Amidst all this, the film’s makers released the much-awaited track from the film. Titled ‘Oonchi Oonchi Waadi’, the song has been sung by Hansraj Raghuwanshi and it features both Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi. Below are a few reactions from Twitter about the track. In totality, there seemed to be many fans who loved the track.

While a user called ‘Swati’ wrote, “The song is amazing Vocals of Baba Hansraj will touch your Soul But the main part was the small glimpses And that have somehow forced us to think about the serious topic which this movie will deal Har har Mahadev”, there was another who tagged Akshay Kumar and wrote, “@akshaykumar sir play a role lord Shiva in OMG 2 and finally long time big screen returns with OMG2 in 11 August 2023 in theatres released but OMG2 movie is big screen released and OMG 2 movie want to hit and box office collection should be good”.

A user named Atul described the song and film as ‘Career's best act loading Best of luck For OMG2 sir’. There were other comments like, “Waiting For OMG2 Paaji”. Amidst all this, there was a user named A K Verma who requested Akshay Kuar to avoid the usage of a moustache! He wrote, “Sir please badi action masala film kare like rowdy rathore, welcome type. Omg, selfiee, rakshabandhan jaisi film please na kare audience change ho gai hai or please mooch(moustache) avoid kare sir g... Please baat ko samjhe @akshaykumar”.

There were many who supported the film and the song by commenting, “I support Akshay sir career will be commerical blockbuster and realise comeback”, “Akshay Kumar is the only Star in Bollywood who carries our culture”, It is very impressive music sir, it's feel like we are connected with shiva. Har Har Mahadev”.
