On Bobby Deol's birthday, Suriya confirms that he indeed is Kanguva's Udhiran

It's official! As speculated earlier, Bollywood actor Bobby Deol will be essaying the role of the Udhiran in the Suriya-starrer Kanguva. In celebration of the Animal actor's birthday, Suriya took to his social media handles to share the character poster of Bobby and introduced him as the ‘mighty Udhiran.

The Tamil star shared the new poster with a caption that read, “Happy birthday #BobbyDeol brother..Thank you for the warm friendship. It was awesome to see you transform in full glory as the mighty #Udhiran in our #Kanguva Guys watch out for him! @directorsiva @ThisIsDSP @vetrivisuals @StudioGreen2”(sic).

The poster features Bobby Deol in a bloodied-armour that resembles a reindeer’s head. He is also seen with reindeer horns. Udhiran’s one eye looks bizarre, and he is surrounded by several other people who are also seen in similar attire and horns. At first glance, Bobby's Udhiran definitely seems to be a mighty and powerful person to watch out for. Looking at this outfit and overall getup, there is no doubt that Udhiran is a fantasy character with magical powers. And we sure can’t wait to see Bobby transform into a beast.

Kanguva’s release date delayed due to THIS reason

Helmed by Siva, Kanguva was initially scheduled to be released in theatres in April 2024. However, the makers have clarified that the film's release has been pushed to the second half of 2024 since the post-production work may take more time than they had earlier anticipated. There have also been hints that the new release date of the film will be revealed soon.

Apart from Suriya and Bobby Deol, Kanguva also stars Disha Patani, Kovai Sarala, Jisshu Sengupta, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Natarajan Subramaniam, Anand Raj, Ravi Raghavendra, KS Ravikumar, and Deepa Venkat in key roles. National Award-winning composer Devi Sri Prasad has composed the music for the period fantasy, for which Vetri Palanisamy cranks the camera.
