Three months after its theatrical release, the Malayalam film, Once Upon A Time There Was A Kallan, has made its digital debut. Users outside of India can now stream it on Simply South.

The comedic drama, which debuted in theatres in May of this year, received mixed reviews from audiences because it was filmed more than ten years ago and lacked modern touches. It is currently only accessible to platform users outside of India, but it will soon be available here on Manorama Max or Amazon Prime Video.

Featuring Sreenath Bhasi, Kottayam Nazeer, Prathap Pothen, Tini Tom, and Sudheesh in important parts, the film was directed by Fazil Mohammed. Renowned composed Ouseppachan created the music for this film. The main character of the movie is an elderly guy played Prathap Pothan who lives alone in a huge house. A burglar breaks in one evening but unintentionally becomes trapped and the old guy decides to make friends with the robber instead of alerting the police. Their unusual friendship adds humour to his otherwise lonely existence. A slew of touching and humorous incidents that profoundly alter their lives follow forming the crux of the film.

Flask, Detective Ujjwalan, Meesha, and Thug CR 143/24 are among the recent Malayalam films available for streaming on this OTT platform. This week, Meesha debuted digitally on Manorama Max, OTTplay Premium, and Sun NXT. 

Sarkeet starring Asif Ali will be available on the same website starting on September 26. The digital rights to this family drama have also been purchased by Manorama Max. Among the recent Malayalam films, this movie's OTT release was one of the most anticipated.The movie's main themes of shifting familial ties make the characters and their lives relevant to viewers even if the story is set in the UAE. Orhan, Deepak Parambol, and Divya Prabha all have important parts in the film.
