Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe on OTT: Vinay Rajkumar’s musical romantic drama gets new streaming home

Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe, the musical romantic drama directed by Simple SuNi and starring Vinay Rajkumar in the lead, had released in time for Valentine’s Day 2024. It received average reviews, with Vinay receiving praise for his role, while the music was also a standout feature. In just over a month, Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe made its way to OTT, streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The deal with Prime Video, though, has run out and the team has now been able to shop the film to another platform.

Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe's new streaming agreement part of a larger deal? 

If you’d not seen Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe in theatres and missed it on OTT too, fret not, the film is now headed to Zee5 (via OTTplay Premium also). It will begin streaming on the platform from November 21, 2025. The film also stars Rajesh Nataranga, Mallika Singh, Swatishta Krishna, among others. Interestingly, the news of SuNi’s film heading to Zee5 comes within days of the theatrical release of his next, Gatha Vaibhava, sparking speculation that the Dushyanth-Ashika Ranganath starrer fantasy movie’s post-theatrical stint could be with the network.

Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe, meanwhile, is the original title that SuNi had intended for his directorial debut, the Rakshit Shetty starrer that was eventually called Simplaag Ond Love Story. In the film, Vinay played an aspiring music director, Athishay, whose search for love came with a condition. A girl whose voice matches the rhythm of his heart – that’s who he was searching for. When he eventually hears that voice, he attributes it to the first person he lays eyes on, but later realizes she was not the one. Before he can find his true soulmate, though, his folks force him into marrying a childhood pal.
